In the ninth issue of Husar, we wrote about Harpers Ferry, a town in West Virginia in which Harpers Ferry Armory was located. Harpers Ferry Armory was the second federal armory commissioned by the United States government. During the Civil War, Harpers Ferry Armory was held by the Union soldiers but in 1861 they were outnumbered and outmaneuvered by the Confederate militia that soon took possession of the Armory. We also wrote about “the gothic style” but not in art. We wanted to show our readers the types of armor common for the gothic period in Europe. Other topics were the Battle of Tanga between the British and the Germans in 1914, the American operation “Tidal Wave” in 1943, and last but not least, we wrote about Stuart PAK and Stuart FLAK tanks.
